Pilates and Low Back Pain

Over 80% of the UK adult population suffers from non-specific low back pain at some point in their lifetime.  This is tension, soreness and/or stiffness in the lower back region for which many suffers are unable to identify a specific cause for the pain.

The most recent medical guidelines recommend that people with persistent non-specific low back pain stay physically active - Pilates exercises are ideally suited to help prevent and manage low back pain.

During your one to one sessions you will be taught the 'Pilates ABCs' - Alignment, Breathing, Centring (Core Stability).  You will then progress to a series of exercises bespoke for you - which will be designed to enhance your movement control, improve posture and to increase both the strength and flexibility of your back.
